Hey! Ram is a movie about a guy who is really annoying and you should watch this film because it teaches you how to not be annoying. The point of this blog post is that the protagonist of the movie isn't really learning anything new in his quest to improve himself, he's just copying a character from a previous story. By no means should "Hey! Ram" be seen as representative of all movies with similar themes or content, but it does worth thinking about what sort of messages these movies might deliver. The blog will examine various issues such as whether there are any benefits in watching these films and if they help us grow in some way. One issue raised in the blog post is that it might be hard for most people to relate to "Hey! Ram" because it's about a fourth grader, but most of us are adults by comparison. It's true that most people are too old for "Hey! Ram", but this doesn't mean the movie is only for children. There are many movies with younger protagonists that can also be enjoyed by adults. For example, my favorite film about an eighth grader is "American Pie". Although this film isn't aimed at adults or teenagers, my girlfriend loved it and she's 23 years old, just like almost everyone else in the audience. "Hey! Ram" is no different in terms of audience because it's for anyone who wants to learn how to think critically about their world. Another issue raised in the blog post is that these movies will make you feel bad about yourself. This again isn't necessarily bad for them, but it's important to realize why they are toying with your emotions. "Hey! Ram" makes the protagonist feel bad about himself by making him not good enough because he can't stand being around other people or doing things that are difficult for him. The theme of another movie about a young boy is "Don't Think I've Forgotten", which makes you feel bad by showing how even though Cambodia has a rich musical history, it was lost due to the Khmer Rouge. This might be a discouraging thought, but that doesn't mean these movies are making you feel bad on purpose.
